Safety is paramount on our work floor. When our riveter shield became so worn that we could not see through it, engineers from SourceAmerica assessed our situation and fabricated a new shield. This new shield will allow us to continue providing vocational training and paid work opportunities for our clients in a safe environment. Thanks to Jared and Cole from SourceAmerica. If you have any manufacturing needs, from injection molding and industrial sewing to kitting and packaging, please check our website for more information. https://lnkd.in/gamX2sbq

A big shout out to Brigham Young University - Idaho Engineering Student Tyler for volunteering his time and knowledge to assist us. We have a sandbag project through the U.S. AbilityOne Commission and SourceAmerica that provides vocational training for our clients through sewing and trimming. Our old drop tester was very difficult to operate, requiring significant effort to pull the handle. Tyler designed a new release system that utilizes the existing structure, making it much easier to use. Now, you don't have to be a weightlifter to test the sandbags! We are pleased to call Tyler a DWI Champion for his hard work and dedication to this project.

Last night we hosted a discussion on Transportation needs for individuals with disabilities in the Greater Idaho Falls area. We appreciate Kade Marquez, Transportaion Coordinator for the Idaho Falls Public Works, for coming to explain the challenges and opportunities available through services that G.I.F.T. (Greater Idaho Falls Transit) provides to the public at large. We were pleased that those people who came out for the meeting had some success stories and some challenges that they hope an expansion of the program can lead to more Transportation independence for individuals with disabilities. If you could not make the meeting, we still would like to gather additional feedback and encourage you to complete a form at: https://lnkd.in/gy5iJu8m
