U.S. Army Forces Command MG Sean P. Davis, G4 Deputy Chief of Staff, spent some time with our subject matter experts for briefings on our ground vehicle priorities including the advanced combat powertrain, designed to improve the efficiency with which Army vehicles move with the energy available, and grow propulsion capabilities like increased sprint acceleration and low-end torque. Earlier this week we had the privilege of hosting Nick Taylor, Head of?Land Combat?Vehicles with the UK’s Defence Equipment & Support. He was intent on hearing about our advanced batteries, or energy storage, which can enable longer silent-watch periods, faster battery recharge when the engine is running, and vehicles that more capably satisfy high-power demands. ? Tim Nelson, Chief of Staff to Rep. Ed Case from Hawaii, visited GVSC last week for a deeper look into the Detroit Arsenal’s support for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. He also received updates on our water purification, hydrogen fuel cells, fuel reduction and ground vehicle autonomy efforts and toured the world-class Detroit Arsenal Prototype Integration Facility, which provides robust, innovative solutions in systems integration and experimental prototyping.

Chris Manning, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research and Technology, visited the Detroit Arsenal and Selfridge Air National Guard Base this week for updates on GVSC’s latest advancements in its ground vehicle portfolio, including survivability & protection, power & mobility, robotics and force projection. He also sat down with GVSC’s Young Professionals for a candid discussion on career development and talent management. The Army is committed to building high-performing and cohesive teams in an inclusive environment to accomplish its mission.

This week at Automation Alley in Troy, Mich., GVSC hosted an Industry Day focused on contracting strategies & mechanisms. Army scientists and engineers performed test and validation with advanced artificial intelligence and robotics technologies integrated on ground and aerial vehicles, expected to improve the dismounted infantry platoon’s performance on the battlefield by tenfold. https://lnkd.in/eDUXTh3C

On display at AUSA last week was our prototype Infantry Squad Vehicle outfitted with Active Protection System radar, an emerging technology that can detect, track and classify unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs. Survivability and Protection efforts, both those developed in government research centers and those such as the APS radar made in collaboration with one of our industry partners, are key to transitioning mature technology from S&T to the acquisition community and on to our warfighters more quickly and cost effectively.
