With a workforce of more than 3,000 scientists, engineers, business support professionals and key military, The C5ISR Center, is an Army applied research and advanced technology development center under the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command, or DEVCOM, which is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Futures Command. The DEVCOM C5ISR Center discovers and develops innovative technologies that enable information superiority and tactical overmatch for our country’s most important customer: our Joint Forces. As the Army’s primary integrator of C5ISR technologies and systems, the center conducts applied Research and Development, or R&D, across a wide variety of capability areas that touch all six of the Army’s Modernization priorities. These include cyberspace operations, electronic warfare, Intelligence, data analysis and fusion, tactical network design, wireless communications, radar, sensors, electro-optics, mission command applications, autonomy and machine learning, power and energy, modeling and simulation, counter-IED, minefield detection/defeat and Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing. Mission: To enable the networked Warfighter by identifying, developing, and rapidly integrating innovative technologies that enable decisive lethality through information dominance in Multi-Domain Operations. Vision: C5ISR Center’s vision is an Army that dominates the electromagnetic spectrum, commands the operation, and creates decisive effects – any time, any place. An Exchange of Ideas: Australian Army meets with C5ISR Center Leaders and Experts Earlier this week, Dr. Paul Gaertner and Dr. Dale Quinn from the Australian Defense Science and Technology Group (DSTG) visited with C5ISR Center leaders and subject matter experts to discuss opportunities for collaboration and partnership. The engagement further strengthened the Center’s information sharing agreements with the Australian Army and is key to enabling a shared understanding of emerging innovation among the U.S. Army and its allies. The discussion also explored potential avenues for future research and development, as well as the alignment of multinational strategies to advance military readiness and operational effectiveness across both nations. As we look ahead, our joint ventures will drive innovation and improved capabilities. ?? The “Tip of the Spear” crossing paths with Army Innovation ?? This week, we had the privilege of hosting CSM Brian Hester, CSM Stephen Helton, and CMSgt Jacob Simmons, Command Senior Enlisted Leader of U.S. Space Command, who toured the C5ISR Center’s Prototype Integration Facility. The PIF is a state-of-the-art facility that leverages technical expertise in engineering design, development, fabrication, installation, integration, and testing—to accelerate the delivery of technology to the Warfighters. With nearly 100 years of combined service to our nation, their visit is a testament that highlights how leadership drives commitment and innovation. While the three leaders were shown around on different tours, they were able to engage in discussions about emerging technologies and see several demonstrations. Strategic engagements with Center leadership will continue to help us shape the future of US Army innovations as we continue to push the boundaries of impossible to possible. The collaboration between leadership and innovation will be key to our future successes in Army innovation. With the support of senior leaders around all branches of service, industry partners, academia, and other stakeholders, we’ll continue to build a stronger, more adaptable Army for tomorrow and support our Warfighters on new levels.
