Time to put your thinking caps ?? on: HELIOS models the coupled aerodynamic and structural dynamics response of the vehicle using computational fluid dynamics codes for aerodynamics, computational structural dynamics to model structural bending and trim software with multi-body dynamics to set the controls to achieve vehicle trim. Simply put? HELIOS software code makes accurate aeromechanics predictions of rotorcraft performance under a variety of flight conditions. From theory to practice! ?? ?? Cadets from the Programmable Payload capstone team traveled to Moffett Field, CA, to explore the future of autonomous cargo delivery. ?? Cadets held a preliminary design review for their innovative center-of-gravity shifting device, advancing research to push UAS capabilities even further. ?? Alongside their mission, Cadets visited the first and second largest wind tunnels in the world, as well as several other preeminent research facilities within the NASA Ames footprint! Thank you for your service. ? ? ? “For me Veterans Day means honoring everyone who answered the call to serve our country. I am a veteran because my father instilled patriotism and the love of country in me at an early age. Today, I reflect on 22 years of service with a tremendous sense of pride for our country and all the great people I served with. Having participated in four deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, I think of countless examples of great courage and sacrifice from Soldiers and their families. The best thing about Veterans Day is remember those who have gone before us, what great Soldiers they were, and taking time to thank our Veterans who continue to serve our government and communities today by carrying on the legacy of selfless service.” #VeteransWeek | #WeAreAvMC
