In celebration of DevNW's 5th anniversary, we’re highlighting impactful projects like our Polk Street Apartment complex! Last year, we completed a major expansion, doubling the size of this vital housing resource for youth aged 16-24 in Lane County who have aged out of foster care or are at risk of homelessness.?? ?? This new building adds 12 more affordable, supportive housing units, a communal kitchen, and a community room for classes, gatherings, and onsite services. Safe and stable housing is a foundational tool for young adults on their path to independence, and we’re proud to offer these essential resources to empower our community’s youth.??

Dev Northwest is a nonprofit that was created in 2019 when Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO) and Willamette Neighborhood Housing Services (WNHS) united to expand impact, bring people together, and better help our communities thrive in the long term. Together, our two organizations have 60 years of experience. We help people find and make homes, start small businesses, revitalize neighborhoods, and achieve their goals — whatever shapes those goals may take. Our mission is to grow vibrant Northwest communities by empowering the region’s individuals, families, small businesses, and neighborhoods. Over the past five years, more than 2,000 households have completed our Homebuyer Education course, gaining the knowledge and tools to navigate one of life’s most significant investments. Through classes offered in English and Spanish, personalized counseling, and resources like downpayment assistance and equitable lending products, we help families overcome barriers and build generational wealth. In 2023 alone, we supported 16 first-generation homebuyers, contributing over $2.9M in downpayment assistance for 93 Oregon families. A heartfelt thank you to Maps Community Foundation for their incredible $25,000 grant, which funded a new roof for our affordable housing development designed specifically for veterans in Salem’s Grant neighborhood. This project turned a historic church and its adjacent parsonage into 17 beautiful, safe, and affordable homes for local veterans. At DevNW, we believe that vibrant communities are built by meeting the unique needs of our clients. With Oregon’s housing crisis impacting so many, this project is a step toward creating stability and opportunity for those who have served our country.
