Award-winning events also have award-winning invitations! We were thrilled to receive the Gold Addy for Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital’s Meet us at the Club invitation from AAF-Houston. These hand-delivered invitations set the tone for the aforementioned cocktail party, providing a sense of supper club charm and colorful whimsy to generate excitement. Hosted at The Marigold Club, our design matches the sophistication of the venue, using a palette of warm marigold, coral, and chartreuse greens paired with the most precious printed die-cut olive pick – so guests know that martinis are a must, and the evening will be filled with elegance. Other details include a custom flower flag, branded burl wood sticker, and printed envelope liner of the custom, hand-painted mural at the venue – each element chosen with intention. #invitationdesign #eventbranding #awardwinningdesign

Managing Consultant, Head of Learning and Innovation at Deutser | Industrial-Organizational Psychologist | Leadership Coach | Researching Belonging, Leadership, and Well-being at Work

As organizations continue to navigate evolving work models, the role of physical work environments in shaping employee experience and business outcomes is more critical than ever. A recent review of decades of research provides valuable insights into how workplace design influences productivity, culture, and talent strategy. Here are some key takeaways for executives thinking about the future of work and space design: Three Key Dimensions Define Physical Work Environments: 1?? Ambience: Lighting, sound, air quality, and temperature impact well-being and cognitive performance. 2?? Spatial Configuration: Office layouts, proximity of workstations, and access to amenities influence collaboration and privacy. 3?? Aesthetics: Design elements, decor, and workspace personalization shape employee identity, motivation, and company culture. Workplace Design Directly Affects Task Accomplishment, for example: The physical environment impacts employees’ physical and mental health, motivation, and ability to focus. Open spaces foster collaboration but may reduce concentration, while private offices enhance focus but limit informal interactions. A balance between privacy and accessibility is essential, with flexible workspaces offering a potential solution. There is no one-size-fits-all approach; however, which is why we ensure we design with the end user in mind. A Firm’s Physical Environment is a Strategic Resource: ?? Workspace design influences a company’s ability to attract and retain top talent. Aesthetic choices signal company values and culture to potential hires. ?? Thoughtfully designed spaces enhance employee engagement and productivity, while poorly designed ones can increase turnover and dissatisfaction. ?? Sustainable and energy-efficient workspaces are increasingly linked to cost savings and corporate reputation. Future-Proofing Office Design: ?? Hybrid work models require rethinking how space is used, focusing on collaboration hubs rather than assigned desks. ?? Technology integration, wellness-focused design, and adaptable layouts will define high-performing workplaces. ?? Leaders must balance investments in physical spaces with the evolving needs of a more flexible workforce. For executives and workplace designers, the challenge is to create spaces that align with business goals while enhancing employee experience. As work continues to evolve, so too must our approach to office design. How is your organization rethinking its workspace strategy? At Deutser, we blend the latest science with experiential design to create spaces that meet the evolving needs of your workforce—today and into the future. In celebration of Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital’s world-class specialized pediatric care, we concepted and planned a beautiful (and now award-winning) event called “Meet Us at the Club.” We recently received a Certificate of Excellence Addy from AAF-Houston American Advertising Awards for event design and execution. Guests were welcomed by the smooth sounds of a jazz duo and a charming, umbrella-adorned champagne cart before walking through a perfectly color-coordinated floral archway and into the stunning Marigold Club. Lush florals covered every corner of the restaurant, making the already beautifully designed interior shine even brighter. The “Mayfair London meets French cuisine” menu included a fresh live-shucking seafood ice bar, a gougère station, and delectable passed hors d’oeuvres that featured mini lobster rolls and miniature beef wellingtons, along with other delicious bites. Every design and touchpoint for our events are strategically thought through and intentionally placed with the guest in mind to deepen and strengthen the brand experience. #eventbranding #eventplanning #awardwinningdesign

As Deutser has expanded into both the sports arena and the environmental design space in recent years, it’s incredible to see our work recognized. Our human-centered approach to design focuses on creating meaningful spaces that reflect and amplify culture, fostering connection and purpose in every project we undertake. Thank you to AAF-Houston for honoring us with Gold Addy for Environmental Design for the Arizona Cardinals Football Club Headquarters. We believe in the power of space and experiential design to transform culture. From creation of “Redzona” for the sales team, to a 50-yard line huddle area, to the design of “Central Perch,” a spin on the Central Perk coffee shop and more, these new offices helped reenergize the team, promoting more collaboration and organizational pride. #environementaldesign #awardwinningdesign

In an age where digital is king, we took another approach. A more human and tactile approach. In working with a visionary digital media and gaming company, the way we brought their cultural elements to life was to create an unexpected tactile solution. With hints of retro gaming and sorcery, we created a custom board game complete with values dice and behaviors card decks. Interwoven in every part of the engagement plan was the reminder that “it’s your move” — each person’s creative contribution is important to their overall success. #culturematters #engagement

Houston Community College has always been a staple in Houston’s educational and workforce development. But many only saw it as a community college, and not as one of Houston's most important institutions. At Deutser, we crafted a campaign that demonstrated the breadth of quality educational programs and degrees, positioning HCC as the college that meets the demands of an ever-changing workforce landscape. This campaign was aptly named “Frame Your Future.” #nonprofit #education #campaign #HCC

Grateful for leaders like Samantha Lewis, who continue to inspire and teach me every day through our work in executive coaching and leadership development at Deutser. I'm also excited to share my latest Substack (linked below), where I explore the old adage "leaders are born, not made." Spoiler alert: I disagree—and so does science. Leadership is about influence, shaped by both our environment and the people around us. It's a dynamic process of learning, adapting, and becoming. It's not just about us—but about others. Great leaders inspire, empower, and uplift those around them. Check it out and let me know your thoughts! How have your experiences shaped your leadership journey? #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoaching #Influence #LearningAndGrowth

"Leadership is not about adhering to a rigid framework; it’s about adaptability. The most effective leaders adjust their approach to meet the evolving needs of their teams and the challenges at hand." I’m fortunate to work with incredible individuals in my role at Mercury, and one of those is our executive coach, Isabel Bilotta, Ph.D., whose latest article on leadership deeply resonated with me. Her insights serve as a potent reminder that leadership is both a personal and collective journey, requiring intentionality, self-awareness, a commitment to growth, and, in my opinion, most importantly, authenticity. Here are five key takeaways from her latest article on Substack: - Bridge Divides – Conflict is inevitable, but resolution requires shared effort. Great leaders foster open dialogue and mutual respect, creating environments where people feel heard and valued. - Lead from All Levels – Leadership isn’t just for those at the top. Taking initiative, building trust, and pushing yourself—even in uncomfortable moments—allows anyone to lead, regardless of title. - Amplify Your Strengths – The best leaders recognize their strengths, leverage them effectively, and build diverse teams that complement each other. People perform best when working in their areas of strength. Adapt to Others: Emotional intelligence matters. Leaders who tune into their team’s emotions and needs create more collaborative, engaged, and resilient teams. - Vulnerability Builds Trust – Psychological safety is a game-changer. Leaders who are open, honest, and willing to admit mistakes build trust and create environments where teams thrive.
