Fortescue recently announced its plans to make marine battery packs at a new factory in #Detroit. This is the company's first step in scaling production for a variety of high-performance electric applications, as a part of its plan to invest $210 million and create up to 600 jobs in the #DetroitRegion. The Detroit Regional Partnership was proud to assist Fortescue in its expansion to Detroit last year-- the company noted its choice to land in Detroit was influenced by the highly skilled production and engineering talent and the ability to work with a wide range of OEMs located here. On September 26th, five representatives from the Detroit Regional Partnership had the privilege of attending the highly esteemed Young Leader Conference organized by the Detroit Economic Club. This conference serves as a remarkable platform for young professionals to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. The theme of this year's conference revolved around the intriguing concept of Utilizing Historical Insights to Propel Future Success. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including effective relationship management, both personal and professional, as well as engaging in speed networking sessions. Moreover, participants had the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of Generative AI and explore its potential applications in our daily work routines.
