Rebecca Deurlein's recent article in Texas Highways Magazine shines a spectacular spotlight on Hush and Whisper Distillery Co., a local grain-to-glass distillery in Bryan, Texas. ?? "The space is extraordinary: 8,000-plus square feet of soaring, industrial ceilings, a swanky bar, Murano chandeliers hanging over tasting tables, and the focal point—a three-story copper still at the center of the bourbon production. 'We cut a hole in our floor so guests can see their bourbon being made,' founder and manager Caleb Clanton says. 'That’s how committed we are to transparency.'" Bryan, TX, has been a legendary Texas town for more than 150 years. It got its start as a railroad town when William Joel Bryan, nephew of Stephen F. Austin, sold a single square mile of land to representatives of the Houston & Texas Central Railroad. The town quickly turned into an agricultural and commercial hub of the Brazos Valley, and the City of Bryan was officially incorporated on November 29, 1871. Congratulations to our most recent class of Bryan Texas Ambassadors! ?? Thank you to everyone who attended and all of our community partners who helped us make it a great day. During the November Ambassador program, we visited The Queen Theatre, Messina Hof Winery and Resort, Legends Event Center, several Lake Walk businesses (The Stella Hotel, 6Whiskey, Kanji Sushi, Woodhouse Spa, The Board Room), Ronin, Hush & Whisper Distilling Co., and The Palace Theater. The Ambassador Program is a new initiative developed by Destination Bryan's Community Engagement Manager, Christopher Ortegon. This program was created to help our community become a better resource for visitors who are looking for fun things to do in town, and is open to anyone who has an interest in expanding their knowledge of Bryan so they can share what they've learned with visitors, residents, and friends. ??
