Been on and off of this script, and its finally cooperating. Needed to layout some typical bay framing and columns. Set the overall floor width and height, along with bay width and height and it models a generic size based on a simple beam design. Change parameters and re-run. Under a min and I have 4 different types of framing. Pushing this to the generative design package next. #computationaldesign #dynamo #scripting #workinprogress
Congratulations to our One Wall Street team for being honored by the ACI in their Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards program at the international level. DeSimone engineers Mycheal Crafton, P.E. and Kelsey Myers accepted the 2nd Place award in the category of Repair and Restoration Excellence at the awards gala in Philadelphia on behalf of a project team helmed by Mark Plechaty, Asim Khan, and our client Macklowe Properties. The ACI recognized the team’s structural design for the expansion and reimagining of the landmarked, 1.6 million SF One Wall Street office-to-residential conversion project for its ingenuity, sustainability and resilience, and innovative construction techniques, solutions, and use of materials. Corbetta Awards dinner, where Associate Principal Rodolfo Medina accepted the prestigious 2024 Mid-Rise Award of Merit with Special Recognition for OLYMPIA DUMBO on behalf of the project team. Built with a striking, sail-shaped silhouette that bends skyward above the Brooklyn waterfront, the architect’s vision for Olympia DUMBO was brought to life through the collaborative, in-house expertise of DeSimone’s structural engineers and fa?ade and building envelope specialists. What an incredible evening! ?? On 7 November in #Chicago, attendees watched an exclusive screening of "Women of Carbon" and learned about the empowering journeys and collective vision for a better world from a multitude of pioneering leaders in the construction, engineering, and architecture industries. The panel discussion after featured women leaders in the built environment, including some from the film, who talked about the current urgencies in the fight to slow climate change, and how others can become more involved and contribute.
