By drawing inspiration from ocean depth charts, the design resonates with the maritime experience, making it more than just a speaker—it’s a statement piece for any boat. The strategic placement of the Banshee logo on the "brand peninsula" enhances visibility while the wave-inspired rings evoke a sense of movement and fluidity. The downward-facing installation under the gunwales is a clever choice, as it optimizes sound projection while keeping a clean look on the boat. The combination of two 4” drivers and a horn-loaded tweeter delivers impressive sound clarity, especially in a marine environment. The result of DesignThink’s involvement on this project helped the Banshee Marine Audio brand gain attention and establish a distinct presence in the competitive marine audio market. The innovative design not only highlights the speaker’s functionality but also connects with boaters on a visual and emotional level. Innovating to Chart a New Direction Forward! DesignThink is thrilled to have collaborated with Banshee Marine Audio in crafting a state-of-the-art VHF radio extension speaker, specifically engineered to enhance communication clarity in challenging boating conditions. Recognizing the importance of reliable communication between ship-to-shore and ship-to-ship, we set out to develop a product that excels in both performance and aesthetics. While this speaker is not the first of its kind, it stands out as the clearest and loudest on the market. Leveraging advanced technologies akin to those found in smartphones and high-end audio equipment, it features Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to effectively filter out background noise, ensuring that the human voice remains crisp and prominent. Additionally, a 10-watt integrated amplifier boosts volume output, minimizing distortion even at higher levels. Banshee Marine Audio sought a new Visual Brand Language (VBL) to visually amplify the product’s capabilities and elevate its market presence. Partnering with DesignThink, and guided by Dan Soeters' clear technical vision, we embraced the opportunity to innovate. Our team designed a fresh look that disrupts the conventional aesthetic of VHF speakers, ensuring it not only performs exceptionally but also captivates visually. Together, we’re proud to introduce a product that redefines expectations in the marine audio space.
