?? TREND?Report ?? Was it us or was Expo particularly magical this year? Not sure what was in the air but the vibes were right and we had the best time snacking our way through each hall, walking the floor with friends and clients, and making many new quality connections. So what stood out at the show? Here’s our snack sized take: ?? More is more… But does it come with protein? Protein, Mushrooms, Dates, oh my! Trends we’ve been watching for years seemed to hit a fever pitch with one stealing the spotlight. Protein? Ever heard of it? Yeah, well it’s now available in everything you want to eat, snack, and drink. From savory snacks to flat flavored water, protein is now available in what feels like any format your heart could possibly desire, including clear protein powder adds ins. Plus you’ll get low/no sugar, a decent dose of fiber, a daily serving of vegetables and so much more.?The push to get in your daily protein amount is the leading RTB that nearly every brand shouted from the rooftops. ?? Counter trend prediction: A return to simplicity. We’re personally ready to come back to quality over quantity. Whether it be a good cup of coffee or truly real food that hasn’t been pumped up, but maybe we’re getting a bit fatigued on being sold a million things in my pre, post, adaptogen, bio-available, functional beverage and snacks. ?? Just. Be. Love.? Whether it be Just, Be or Love, many new brand names at Expo seemed to debut the next evolution of live, laugh, love ??. It seems companies are hoping to inspire all the good vibes for consumers — surfacing their underlying desires to be happy, healthy, and capable of reaching their highest physical and mental potential. Be Love, an electrolyte beverage brand, launched at Expo and is serving tasty hydration + potassium and magnesium to help balance blood pH levels. Be Amazing another beverage line that launched at Expo is blending up 10 fruits and veggies for total wellbeing (and hydration). OG’s like Just Tea and Just Egg are welcoming the newbies to the pool. While we do appreciate the positive lens — we will wait to see if these names remain ever present in consumers’ minds. ?? With a little help from my friends We saw brands showcasing their grocery shelf friends alongside their product to enhance the taste, texture, and/or flavor, or their product. Brami Inc. sampled their pasta with our personal favorites, Carbone Fine Food and Graza. Secret Island paired their salmon bacon with perfectly fluffy Belgian Boys pancakes. good culture sampled their cottage cheese with a dollop of FLY BY JING. And of course, the notable Ithica x Graza collaboration had people flocking to their booth. CPG has always been a tight-knit community and we love to see our brand friends come together to lift each other up… and introduce their brands to new consumers. We’re here for the brand cross-pollenation, and we can’t wait to see what collabs they cook up next. Read More in the comments...
