?? New Update to LUNA Technical Requirements! We're excited to announce a new update opening up LUNA qualification to eligible luminaires. LUNA now allows eligible luminaires with field adjustable optics to qualify to LUNA as long as the luminaire’s Uplight Rating (U Rating) does not exceed our maximums in any configuration. Products with field adjustable distribution types (e.g., the luminaire can switch between a type 2 and a type 3 distribution by turning a dial) may now qualify to LUNA as of our March 2025 update: https://ow.ly/b33W50VlOii LUNA V2.0 will be released in conjunction with SSL V6.0 Technical Requirements and will have additional updates coming soon. Keep an eye out for Draft 1, which will be available for comment in early April. #LED #outdoorlights #darksky #lightpollution #lighting

关于我们
The DesignLights Consortium (DLC) is an organization of Efficiency Forward, Inc. As an independent non-profit organization, the DLC provides decision makers with data and resources on quality lighting, controls, and integrated building systems to reduce energy, carbon, and light pollution. We envision a net zero future where lighting, controls, and integrated building systems enable energy savings, decarbonization, and sustainability for all people and the environment.

This Saturday, March 8 is International Women's Day. At the DLC we are proud to recognize the contributions of women across the lighting industry. Join us in celebrating the women who drive success and make a difference! This year’s #IWD theme, #AccelerateAction, reminds us that there is more work to do and more collaboration needed to achieve gender equality. #IWD2025

??? ?? Save energy with our free toolkit for large commercial buildings! Many buildings are missing out on energy savings if their lighting and HVAC systems are not in sync – it can save over 20% of the whole building load. The DLC created a toolkit to foster collaboration between building owners and operators, electrical/lighting engineers and contractors, and mechanical/HVAC engineers and contractors, who often work independently. The toolkit aims to help them: ?? Understand the benefits of integrating Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) with HVAC systems? ??? Identify the best buildings for integration to maximize energy and cost savings ?? Navigate roles and responsibilities across different teams and building systems ?? Learn from real-world case studies, searchable by building type? ?? Download the free toolkit today! https://ow.ly/ET6f50V2IZj It includes a decision tree, a handbook, a list of case studies, a responsibility matrix, and a project template (construction specification aligned with CSI Division 25). This #BlackHistoryMonth the DLC recognizes the work of Granville T Woods (1856-1910), who is often referred to as "Black Edison." He was a prolific inventor who held over 60 patents over the course of his life and improved communications on electric transit systems in the US. One of his patents, related to telephones and telegraphs, was bought by Alexander Graham Bell. The funds allowed him to continue his research into additional improvements to dispatch and communications in rail systems. We are thankful for his work and perseverance, working during a time when few African Americans were given proper credit for their contributions. https://lnkd.in/efn-mRmp

?? We're holding a webinar this week - on Feb 26, 2pm EST! Join the DLC and NEEA to discuss new updates to the 2020 report, “Energy Savings from Networked Lighting Control (NLC) Systems With and Without LLLC”. Key updates include: ? A clearer definition of luminaire level lighting controls (LLLC) as used in the study ? More nuanced breakdowns of control savings factors (CSFs) ? A refined distinction between high-end trim savings vs. occupancy sensing & daylight harvesting This webinar can help EE program managers avoid misinterpretation when designing incentive structures and assessing real-world project performance. As technology advances, ongoing updates and dataset refinements will be critical in maximizing energy savings. ??Register for the webinar here: https://ow.ly/ERgt50V2Igq Presenters: Bagwat K Mohan, PMP, Yao-Jung Wen, Chris Wolgamott #LLLC #Lighting #energyefficiency #NLC Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA)
