As a designer, I also identified opportunities for us. Embracing AI will keep us working smarter and deliver outstanding digital products while reducing manual effort. Here are some opportunities I recognized for you to stay at the cutting edge of this new technology: ?? For Developers: - Component code generation: AI can generate a component code based on specific design system conventions, syntax, and documentation. Developers can create components 40-90% faster than manually writing them from scratch. - Component translation: AI can translate code from one tech stack to another, such as converting a Web Component built with LitElement into a React component. This reduces the labor-intensive and error-prone process of manual translation, bringing us closer to a “write once, deploy anywhere” reality. - Component testing and QA: AI can automate the generation of unit tests from pseudo-code prompts. This helps ensure that component code is high-quality and reduces the burden on developers to write tests manually. - Accessibility review: AI can integrate accessibility testing into the design system workflow and provide specific accessibility guidelines and context, helping teams improve their accessibility understanding and skills. ??
