Another successful collaboration between Design Distill and Perkins&Will The narrative of creativity and inclusivity is a destination in and of itself.
The Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency (#RDA) has rolled out a new vision for the Rio Grande District. This implementation plan serves as a roadmap for approximately 11 acres of RDA-owned property located just west of Downtown Salt Lake City, adjacent to the state's major transit hub and the historic Rio Grande Depot. The plan envisions an urban, walkable community that taps local organizations to promote art, community health, wellness, and sustainable economic development. It proposes a mix of land uses, including residential spaces with ground-level retail and makerspaces, a new hotel, and areas designated for non-profit organizations. During the planning process, engaging with the community brought to light key insights from residents and stakeholders on street design, open spaces, programming, and urban layout.
