I had the privilege to speak at #AIA24 in Washington DC on Human-Centered Design for Architecture across various scales (S, M, L, XL, X). It was an incredible opportunity to represent Cornell University's Design + Augmented Intelligence Lab and our director Saleh Kalantari to showcase the groundbreaking work being done at DAIL. During the session, I highlighted several pioneering projects by the brilliant minds in our lab, including Qi Yang, Tong Xu, Armin Mostafavi and others. I emphasized our innovative approach to the study of human-building interaction and how behavioral responses relate to specific features of spaces. Our philosophy prioritizes understanding human experience in the pre-occupancy phase through the use of cutting-edge methodologies and relying on objective human data. I also had the honor of sharing the stage with Amin Mojtahedi, PhD, who enriched the discussion with his insights on co-creation in the design process from an industry perspective.
