The Desi Cannabis Collective is a women founded non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming, educating and empowering the South Asian diaspora about cannabis and hemp. Desi is the Hindi word describing a local or indigenous person. Desi is derived from the Sanskrit word desa, translating to country or native land. During the Britain's colonization of South Asia, our people were enslaved across the globe, so the meaning of Desi expanded to include any person of South Asian descent living abroad.
