Continuing Education DCMP has a variety of methods for professionals to earn continuing education credit: self-paced modules, online workshops, and facilitated QuickClasses. All are free of charge to registered members. Some methods are open to eLearners and some require full membership. Anyone can register for an eLearner membership. Full membership requires that a person works with at least one early learner through high school student with a disability, or is in training to do so. Once an eLearning module, workshop, or QuickClass has been successfully completed, participants will receive a certificate. Some trainings are approved for RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) CEUs and ACVREP (Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals) credit. https://dcmp.org/elearning

For district and school leaders committed to inclusive education for ALL! Loving this work coming out of the Educating All Learners Alliance Community of Action! This work to bring diverse organizations together to 10x their impact and work through collaboration and codesign to address core needs of the field is among my favorite things we do, Announcing the Inclusive Leadership Practices Starter Kit by #InclusionToday! Inclusion Today is a cross-organizational collaboration between The Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP), Diverse Learners Cooperative (DLC), the Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education (MCIE), and Blue Engine (BE), aimed at shifting practices among school and district leaders to achieve equitable outcomes for all learners. By signing the Inclusive Leadership Pledge, you’ll gain access to the Inclusive Leadership Practices Toolkit and the Planning Tool, which offer resources focused on (a) inclusive vision, awareness, and mindset (b) strategic planning (c) effective collaborative structures (d) strong foundational general education instruction, and (e) equitable allocation of resources. I was so honored to be on the panel with such amazing contributors to accessibility and disability representation. Let us all set goals to make all we do accessible. We can do this.
DCMP's Kyle Sisk joined Amanda Granger, Maria L. Bruno Ruiz, Lars Klores, Michael Kantor, and Anjel Pi?ero at the #PBSSummit2024 to celebrate disability representation in public media and share the resources producers can access to improve accessibility in their work. Kyle discussed #AudioDescription expansion and DCMP's role in the PBS Kids #ASL project, which involves extensive research with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities, and working with signers who reflect the diversity of the on-screen characters. #Accessibility
