Derecktor Shipyards is excited to announce Erik Derecktor's appointment as New Construction Commercial Manager. Erik grew up in the New York yard, working alongside Derecktor's master craftsmen and learning an appreciation for the care and effort put into each build. He brings a fresh perspective to the team, with eight years of diverse maritime experience, including operating U.S. Navy submarines, developing carbon removal products and future fuel commercialization. "I'm honored to take on this opportunity and responsibility," Erik said. "I'm excited to learn from the team and support their high-quality craft. Standing on the shoulders of generations of boatbuilders, we look forward to continuously improving our work and consistently delivering for our customers." As New Construction Commercial Manager, he will be responsible for new build product development, sales, estimating, contracting and customer service across all four yards and all vessel sectors.? Derecktor Shipyards is proud to announce it has been selected by CREST Wind (a joint venture between U.S.-based Crowley and Denmark-based ESVAGT A/S) to construct a Chartwell Marine Ltd daughter craft. The catamaran will be carried by CREST's Service Operations Vessel (SOV), currently under construction for Dominion Energy's Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project. "Our team is proud of this project and ready to dive in. Significant effort and collaboration with the CREST team got us to this point and our talented production team is ready to bring it home,” Erik Derecktor, Commercial Manager - New Construction, said. “We are excited to support the maritime sector's energy transition, from hybrid and electric vessels to the offshore wind fleet." The multihull daughter craft offers superior seakeeping performance and increased stability to provide a comfortable, safe and workable platform to Siemens Gamesa's Operations & Maintenance workforce. While the R/V Marcelle Melosira operates quietly on the tranquil waters of Lake Champlain, industry chatter continues to increase in volume about this state-of-the-art research vessel launched by Derecktor in 2023. When the University of Vermont Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources selected Derecktor and Chartwell Marine Ltd to build its ideal boat, tremendous thought and intention went into the design and operation of this industry-leading hybrid electric catamaran. Pierce offers easy access for Triton’s team to safely test their equipment.
