A service member’s name tape is one of the smallest pieces of the combat uniform, but it’s an important identifier. At a small plant on Fort Knox, Ky., about 15 civilians are responsible for creating hundreds of thousands of those name tapes a year for nearly every service member in the DoD.

Residents of the Southeast U.S. are still reeling from #HurricaneHelene’s damage. Over the past week, the DoD has assisted with rescue operations, delivered humanitarian relief and helped with debris cleanup in affected areas, with nearly 1,000 soldiers supporting residents in western North Carolina.
