Earlier today, 3/6, CBA President-Elect Emily Gianquinto and Vice President J. Paul Vance, Jr. were among the CBA leaders who provided in-person testimony in support of state legislation to allow association health plans at a public hearing of the CT General Assembly's Insurance and Real Estate Committee. If passed, such legislation would make health insurance available to CBA members at a lower cost and higher quality. #ctbar

DNB was proud to support Connecticut’s first-ever energy-related Hispanic Roundtable. The Avangrid Hispanic Roundtable brought Hispanic and Latino Community and Energy Leaders together to discuss energy issues and solutions that can be taken to move our communities forward.
This week we were honored to convene Connecticut’s first-ever energy-related Hispanic Roundtable. Together with National Hispanic Energy Council (NHEC), the event brought together 15 #Hispanic legislators, municipal officials, business executives, and nonprofit leaders to discuss #energy issues facing the Hispanic community. Connecticut is changing how they fund education. The state uses an Education Cost Sharing grant, commonly referred to as ‘ECS,’ to fund local and regional public-school districts. The ECS formula was revised in the FY 18 and FY 19 budget to include a phase-in schedule to increase education money which began in FY 19. Fast-forward to today where the state is preparing to set another two-year budget cycle next session where fully implementing ECS in FY 25 would require an additional $50.2 million.
