Last Friday I had the honor of attending and hosting a Round Robin discussion at the DePaul University Center for Writing-based Learning Peer Tutor & Mentor Summit. This was my second time attending and presenting at the summit, and I wanted to share my reflections. Nicole Avellaneda and I presented an interactive activity designed to inspire our peers to develop their emotional intelligence skills. We based our activity on the EQi 2.0 model of emotional intelligence. We discussed common situations we may face as student leaders and how we can leverage our emotional intelligence skills to better navigate challenging interactions. Thank you to Erin B. for your guidance and mentorship in developing this activity. I would also like to thank Jennifer Finstrom and Mel Satmar for allowing us to collaborate on this inspiring event. It was wonderful to see so many campus leaders come together to develop their professional skills.

Celebrating today's "Human Library" event for my freshman in DePaul University Career Center's Future Forward program, I am incredibly grateful to this group of unique and impressive professionals who volunteered their time to share their experiences of how they reached their present day professional success. Leaning into the notion that career development is ongoing and career paths can be winding, it was wonderful to bring 10 professionals--professionals from roles in journalism, finance, social activism, public health, film production, and more--to the same space as freshmen exploring their career goals, for meaningful and informative conversations.
