Housing affordability is a top priority for Utahns and our administration. We’ve made strides to solve our housing crisis that should leave Utahns feeling optimistic including:? ?? In the 2024 legislative session, we recommended, and the legislature funded, over $360 million for homelessness and attainable housing. ?? We created a path for low-cost modular housing to be permitted in factories to save time and cost, which will produce more places to live and less expensive housing options for our state. ?? We set an aggressive goal to build 35,000 new starter homes in the next five years utilizing new financing and zoning tools. This afternoon at the Utah Housing Matters Conference, we discussed the progress we've made and what more we can do to tackle our housing crisis and make homeownership an attainable goal.
