While we do our best to verify the legitimacy of job and internship postings, it's important to be cautious. Never share personal or financial information with a potential employer before confirming their identity. Be on the lookout for these red flags: Unexpected requests for money. Unusually high pay or minimal requirements. Pressure to act quickly. Job offers that don't require an interview. If you suspect a job posting is fraudulent, please report it to us immediately. Your safety is our priority." Additional Tips: Research the company. Check their website, social media, and online reviews. Use a professional email address. Avoid using personal or free email accounts. Conduct video interviews. This can help verify the employer's identity. Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. By following these guidelines, you can help protect yourself from job scams and find legitimate opportunities.

Combining world-class research with an innovative and intensive approach to teaching undergraduates and PhD students.
关于我们
Our department combines world-class research with an innovative and intensive approach to teaching undergraduates and PhD students. Founded in 1974, we are by far the youngest of the globe’s top departments. UC San Diego Department of Political Science took its place among our ivy-covered peers not by following their traditions but carving out our own paths, helping to change the way that our discipline approaches the study of the political world. We bring the same passion for non-tradition into our classrooms, where we try to provide our students with courses on subjects they never knew existed, assignments that challenge them to perform professional-level work, and research tools they can use to explore their own questions. Please note that the Department of Political Science does not endorse any particular political party or organization.

????? Politics and the Future of Education: Agustina Paglayan in Conversation with Peter Cowhey Event ????? Date: Nov. 19, 2024 at 5 p.m. Location: Seventh College West Building 1, Room 15A The event is open to the public, and a reception will follow. Join us for a conversation with Agustina S. Paglayan about her new book, “Raised to Obey: The Rise and Spread of Mass Education,” and learn why Nobel Laureate James Robinson says “you will never think about education the same way after reading this path-breaking and iconoclastic book.” Paglayan will discuss how the expansion of primary education in the West emerged not from democratic ideals but from politicians’ desire to control citizens. The future of education systems — and their ability to strengthen democracy, promote growth and reduce inequality — hinges on coming to terms with this troubling legacy. Speaker: Agustina Paglayan, Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy, UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy & Department of Political Science Moderator: Peter Cowhey, Dean Emeritus and Qualcomm Chair Emeritus, UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy Register now using the link below: https://lnkd.in/gYGK2cqK This event is organized by UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS).
