The Power of an Explanation ?? ? We’ve all been patients or had a loved one in care, and we know the difference clear communication makes—and how it feels when it’s missing. ? Mount Sinai West ER Technician Alma Hoosier turned confusion into clarity and fear into trust, showing the life-changing power of clear, compassionate communication. A patient’s family member shared: ?? ? "Alma cared so much for my mom and ensured she kept her dignity throughout her stay. She made sure I always knew what was happening, never letting my questions feel like a burden. Her genuine care and consistent check-ins provided the integrity and compassion we needed during a difficult time. I’ll forever be grateful." ? Alma’s actions remind us that communication isn’t just about sharing information—it’s about creating connection, building trust, and preserving dignity in life’s most vulnerable moments. ? If Alma’s story resonates with you, consider how thoughtful communication could enhance the care and service you provide. Our course, Achieving Service Excellence Through Effective Explanations, dives deeper into the skills that make moments like these possible. ?
