Last weekend (Sep 7 and 8, 2024), Derek Servin, Executive Board Member of the Intelligent Systems Club (ISC) at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, attended the 4th annual Goonettes Intentional (Girls Off-Season Event) at Woodhaven High School, Flat Rock, MI. Following are Derek's comments on the event.
"I'm pleased to report that it was highly successful in several ways. We saw great engagement from the all-girls robotics teams, with about 70% stopping by our booth.
...
Raising awareness about UMD’s robotics degree was a major highlight, as many attendees were amazed and excited to learn about the program. High school seniors and their parents, in particular, benefited from the brochures and information we provided, which helped them consider UMD as a strong option for their future education. Word quickly spread among participants, and some even told their friends to check out our booth, amplifying our outreach efforts."
Derek Servin, thank you so much for your initiative and service!
