Today, we celebrate women and girls in science! We’re inspired by students like HaiNayKuPaw Moo, a Denver Kids Youth Pathways Postsecondary student whose passion for civil engineering and commitment to community development are shaping a brighter future. As a first-year, first-generation student at the Colorado School of Mines, HaiNayKuPaw is gaining a comprehensive understanding of the foundational elements required for infrastructure development and the sustainable functioning of cities—essential knowledge for creating the cities of tomorrow. Her academic pursuits are complemented by her strong commitment to community engagement. Through her work with the East Colfax Community Collective, HaiNayKuPaw has been involved in shaping policies and initiatives that directly impact the Denver-Metro area. This work aligns with her advocacy efforts with the Youth Partnership for Health at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, where she has been instrumental in pushing for better healthcare access in the region. Her diverse set of experiences highlights a deep commitment to civil engineering, as well as a passion for improving the well-being of communities through sustainable infrastructure and meaningful policy change. HaiNayKuPaw represents the power of women in civil engineering, and we are excited to see all the positive changes she will bring to our cities and communities in the future! #WomenInScience #GirlsInSTEM #DenverKids
