Prehistoric Oktoberfest? These are the oldest known fossil hops (67 million years old) and they are from the Hell Creek Formation in North Dakota. These hops were potentially eaten by herbivorous dinosaurs, such as Triceratops. Much like hops today, we think these hops grew as vines that climbed up trees in Cretaceous forests.
