Denver Mile High Rotary

Wow, our guest last week from the CO Dept of Labor and Employment was amazing, I have a much better understanding of the myriad services this department provides our state and its citizens. If you want to continue to learn about everything and anything, please join the 45 members of the Denver Mile High Rotary, every Wednesday morning at 7:00am at the Mosaic Campus (formerly Johnson and Wales), NW corner of Quebec and 17th. Our speaker on March 5th will be Timothy Taravella from the Rocky Mountain Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Please join us! Watch this space for future speaker information.

Do you enjoy helping others? Do you enjoy working side-by-side with like-minded individuals who are and were professionals in their fields? Do you enjoy intelligent conversations and discourse? Then you may be interested in visiting the Denver Mile High Rotary Club. We meet weekly (Weeks 1-4) at the Mosaic Campus (formerly Johnson and Wales) for breakfast at 7:00 A.M. This is followed by a 40 minute presentation by a wide variety of individuals representing businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, research institutions, and general human interest organizations. On the fifth Wednesday of the month from 5-7 we meet for fellowship and happy hour at a local establishment, advertised in our newsletter. The Mosaic Campus is on the NW corner of 17th and Quebec Streets in Denver, CO. We welcome you to visit us any Wednesday at the Mosaic Campus, we end promptly at 8:30 A.M. so you can get to your employment on time! When a month has five Wednesdays our club does not meet in the morning (we are "dark" in Rotary parlance), but instead, we have a happy hour from 5-7pm at a local venue! Tomorrow is the fifth Wednesday in January and we invite all to join us at the DoubleTree Hotel (455 S Colorado Blvd, Denver). We are a friendly crowd and would love to meet you. You'll know us by our smiling faces.

My favorite saying is from Nike, which is “Just Do It!” If I can recommend anything to incoming Rotarians, it is to get involved immediately, find a committee, a project, anything that will help teach you something and that will involve getting to know others who can guide and help you.?

The speaker at this Wednesday's meeting (7:00am at Mosaic Campus, Denver, CO) is Dr. Brianne Bettcher from the Anschutz Medical Neurology Research Center. Dr. Bettcher will discuss the LIIA Research Project, Longitudinal Innate Immunity and Aging Study. One of our members is a subject in this study. We hope you can join us for breakfast (on the house) on Wednesday morning. We end promptly at 8:30 in time to get to work.?

Great meeting this morning featuring Jamie from Project Worthmore! And, how exciting to think that Denver Mile High Rotary is in discussions with Denver Urban Gardens to bring raised beds to the Mosaic Campus! The residents will have access to fresh food virtually at their doorsteps. Thanks to Marty for the great signage leading folks to our Rotary meetings on Wednesday mornings (7:00-8:30am). This club is full of members who make things happen, just like Marty making the signs "happen". I hope others join us in our many activities, projects and fellowship, we are a fun group that gets things done. BTW, I hear we have another new member, Yay!
