Dr. Deb Houry, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, visited Denver Health this week to share invaluable insights from her career journey with our resident doctors! Tracing her path from her emergency medicine residency at Denver Health during 1998-2002, she underscored the pivotal role of mentorship, leadership and balancing clinical skills with public health advocacy. Dr. Houry encouraged our residents to actively seek opportunities, maintain clinical relevance, and spoke on the importance of work-life balance.
