Homeowners often struggle to visualize how their staircase will take shape and how it will be finished. Wood stairs are a popular choice, but many homeowners opt for a runner for added safety. This leads to important design questions: - How will the runner flow around a landing? - Will the pattern hide a mitered seam? - What is the best edge detail? (Spoiler: End caps are not a cost saver!) Then there is the fine detailing: - How does the stair nose transition? - Is the staircase boxed in by stringers? - What is the best approach for a clean, cohesive look? Ever wonder how massive stone slabs are moved? ?? Well, here ya go! Slabs can weigh over 1,000 pounds, so handling them carefully is key to preventing cracks or breaks. - First, you need a slab lifter—but that’s not all! You also need a wedge to create a gap between the slabs. - Once the wedge is in place, you (sometimes with a second person) can pull the slab away. - Then, the forklift comes in! Attach the slab lifter, press the button, and watch it do its magic. It’s a fascinating process to see in action! ????
