?? The Club was blessed to have two Students of the Month share their passion for volunteerism and leadership, determined to make their corner of the world a better place. Cocalico Senior High School student, Liberty Huling, and Ephrata Senior High School student, Nicholas Rya, both participate in National Honor Society, among many other groups, and look forward to their post-high school pursuits. ??? Rotarian and accountant extraordinaire, Randy Goshert, shared a riveting presentation on Tax Updates. Two primary takeaways are the disclosures that businesses are now required to do. Nationally, all companies must disclose their beneficial ownership information (BOI). Filing Annual Reports is a PA State mandate for for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations as well. Both are effective 2025. #ServiceAboveSelf #Leadership
关于我们
The Denver-Ephrata Area Rotary Club has been providing financial support and building goodwill in our community for more than 30 years. While supporting Rotary goals on a worldwide level, the Denver-Ephrata Area Rotary Club spends a majority of their fundraising efforts on local programs, providing donations to the Adamstown and Ephrata Public Libraries, Cocalico and Ephrata Education Foundations, and Ephrata Area Social Services, among others. We also provide college scholarships, send high-school students to summer leadership development programs and host weekly programs of guest speakers from leaders within our community. The main objective of Rotary is service – with the Rotary motto being “Service above self” – in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world. As such, Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, including the availability of clean water, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and the worldwide eradication of polio. The effort to eradicate polio has led to a 99% eradication rate, with only pockets of the disease remaining in small areas of Africa & Asia. This effort, led by Rotary in conjunction with other worldwide organizations, has encouraged the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to give Rotary a total of $335 million in financial support towards polio eradication. Rotarians also support programs for youth education and reading, youth leadership development, youth professional career development and international exchanges in an effort to build tomorrow’s leaders, today.

Student Alyssa Vasyanovich was today's Student of the Month. This savvy future business leader shared her love of numbers and even her experiences in the Investment Club at Ephrata Area School District. Rotarian Tyler Eberly followed this motivated senior with his classification speech, then introduced Tara Zilling. From a very personal perspective, Tara shared the mission of the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (OI Foundation). Also known as "brittle bone disease," this genetic bone disorder affects up to 50,000 people in the country. Locally, the OI Foundation holds the annual Unbreakable Spirit Golf Tournament to raise funds to support the Foundation's efforts. #ServiceAboveSelf #leadership

Our guest presenter, Mike Cahill, described the mission behind his nonprofit organization, Team Jennifer Cahill Charities. Our female veterans sorely lack adequate healthcare support -- both in services and financially. His charity is determined to build more equity in a flawed system and to better honor all of our veterans. ?? Finally, we heard from Rotarian Mike Shober who shared an incredible employment history and experiences leading up to his current position at Tabora Painting LLC.
