Happy #ThrowbackThursday! Today we're going back to 2016, when we performed #dynamiccompaction in Brooklyn, NY, to improve the ground for a truck terminal and parking structure. We used a 60-ton crawler crane equipped with a 10-ton tamper to improve the fill material. We were pleased to work with JZN Engineering, PC., the #geotechnical engineers for the project.

Our #Liebherr HS 8100 HD duty cycle crawler cranes once again proved their toughness and reliability on a late-2024 highway realignment project near Vernal, UT. In the face of challenging site conditions due to the slope, Liebherr provided a custom load chart that ensured safety throughout the process. Thanks to this collaboration, our #dynamiccompaction program was a success. We're excited to see the highway realignment take shape when construction is complete!

In 2021, supercomputers running for 108 days straight calculated pi to more than 62.8 *trillion* decimal places. ??? The value of pi is the same for any size circle. ??? Pi is transcendental. For those who don't speak fluent math, a transcendental number is a number that can never be the root of a polynomial with rational coefficients. ??? Pi is used in geometry, physics, astronomy, architecture, and #construction.? ??? Pi Day was first formally observed in 1988.?Physicist Larry Shaw organized a small celebratory event at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. #ThrowbackThursday this week is a 2017 project in Anchorage, AK, densifying landfill materials underlying Taxiway Q at the Merrill Field Airport. Here we dropped a 15.1-ton tamper from a minimum height of 70 feet to improve the soil. We have performed #dynamiccompaction for multiple phases of work at Merrill Field Airport since 2002.
