What makes a cell type suitable for automation? There is a wide variety of cell types that work well with automated cell counters, but they all tend to have a few characteristics in common. 1?? They have regularly shaped cells or objects 2?? They stain evenly with colorimetric or fluorescent dyes Primary cells and tissue culture are two common sample types that share those traits and are well-suited for automation. In this application note, researchers from Miltenyi Biotec evaluated methods for improving nuclei preparation workflows. In the area of nuclei counting, quantification was performed on a flow cytometer as well as a DeNovix CellDrop Automated Cell Counter. The study concluded that the CellDrop’s count results were highly comparable to the Miltenyi Biotec MACSQuant? Analyzer 10 Flow Cytometer, verifying the high accuracy of both methods.
