"After graduating from college as a chemical engineer, I started working for DG with a dual role in environmental and process engineering. I soon shifted to focus more on process, and over the past 13 years, I've worked with diverse clients and exciting projects, spending much of my time in the field, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in manufacturing. During my time here I’ve led the development of new standards and transitioned to a new role - Process Group Engineering Manager. Dennis Group’s supportive mentors and talented colleagues have shaped my growth, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that truly defines our success. I’m excited to continue building and supporting this team."

Meet Akshit, one of our talented process engineers who’s been with us for 5 years. In his testimonial below, he shares what it’s like collaborating with our diverse teams on some of DG's most exciting projects. ? "I began my journey at Dennis Group in 2019 as a Process Engineer after completing my master’s in chemical engineering. Coming from a different country, the experience of working on my thesis while adjusting to life and work in the U.S. was both exciting and challenging. I was fortunate to secure a position at Dennis Group as I wrapped up my thesis, and transitioning from an academic setting into the fast-paced work environment of Dennis Group has been a new and rewarding experience. Since joining Dennis Group, I’ve gained invaluable experience. Adapting to a new professional culture was initially daunting, but the collaborative environment here helped ease the transition. Being involved in a variety of projects, from conceptual design to construction, has allowed me to apply the technical knowledge from my studies to real-world challenges and grow quickly as an engineer. My current project is the largest greenfield facility I’ve ever worked on, and I’ve had exposure to all the exciting aspects the food industry entails, such as unit operations and automation! At Dennis Group, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse, multidisciplinary team, which has enriched my learning and broadened my perspective on solving engineering problems. The hands-on approach and exposure to complex food and beverage industry projects have accelerated my professional development. Looking back, I am grateful for the opportunities to contribute and grow within Dennis Group, and I look forward to continuing my journey here."

Mayron has had an impressive journey since starting at DG as an LED intern seven years ago. He shares the details of his career advancement from intern to Mechanical Engineering Manager below: ? "I joined DG right after graduation in 2017 as part of the LED (Leadership and Engineering Development) program, which is designed to recruit young engineers with high potential. As the third hire in our newly established Sao Paulo office, I had the unique opportunity to see the company's rapid expansion in a new market. During my mechanical engineering journey at college, I knew I wanted to work with thermal systems, but I still needed to figure out exactly how. I never thought that the food and beverage industry would fit me so well until I joined it. I joined DG right after graduation in 2017 as part of the LED (Leadership and Engineering Development) program, which is designed to recruit young engineers with high potential. As the third hire in our newly established Sao Paulo office, I had the unique opportunity to see the company's rapid expansion in a new market. My first managers at DG gave me freedom and trusted me, allowing me to face the industry challenges while I took on new responsibilities. I ended up moving to SLC, UT, and joining an elite team of engineers. These people were not just knowledgeable but also had an admirable work ethic. While executing projects int he USA, I kept involved with the Sao Paulo office, forming our mechanical engineering team in Brazil, hiring, mentoring, and training them. In 2020, I was formally recognized as a mechanical engineer team lead in our Sao Paulo office and helped facilitate the first interoffice efforts between Brazil and the US. In the meantime, I also became a professional engineer (PE). And at the end of 2023, my career at DG took an exciting turn when I assumed the role of Mechanical Engineering Manager for the company.? I believe both DG and I found the long-term relationship we sought. I was looking for trust and support in a company to develop my highest potential, and in return, I gave my commitment and hard work. It has been great to work here, and I couldn't be more grateful for all the fantastic people I met along the way."

See below to read what process engineering intern Michelle Yu has to say about her experience working with the Dennis Group team in our San Diego office: “I have been a process engineering intern at DG for almost a year, starting my junior year at UCSD. Throughout the months, I have learned so much about sanitary design principles, the technical elements that go into a project, and improving upon my CAD skills—all aspects that supplement my learning and growth as a student engineer. The things I have learned as an intern are invaluable as I do not get this “field applicable” exposure from school. I got to help out with various projects—the most recent being Kona Brewing Company—of course with support and a lot of learning along the way! ? I have so much appreciation for everyone at DG for cultivating such a supportive and wonderful work culture. It is also so inspiring to see so many other women engineers and a diverse range of cultures in the San Diego office, which are aspects that are very important to me when considering a job role. I plan on continuing to learn and build upon my skillsets as I continue on to my final year in school!”

Yuri de Barros joined us in 2021 as part of our LED program in Brazil. Read below to hear from him on his time at DG so far: ? "In the past few years, I’ve had the chance to work on over 30 projects, either supporting or acting as one of the engineers across different design phases: Preliminary, Basic, Detailed, and Construction. These projects, both in Brazil and the US, have given me invaluable, diverse experience. Throughout my time here, I've been exposed to various aspects of Utilities, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. This broad exposure, combined with Dennis Group's hands-on approach and the multidiscipline environment, has significantly accelerated my learning and professional growth. I've gained knowledge quickly and developed a much deeper understanding of the business. This year, I had the incredible opportunity to work in one of our US office. The experience has been nothing short of amazing. The multicultural environment, with colleagues from diverse countries and backgrounds, has made my time at Dennis Group even more enriching. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’m truly grateful for the chance to be part of such a dynamic and supportive team.
