Our own Deming Center for Entrepreneurship, Erick Mueller, collaborated with Brad Werner in teaching this world-class program.

Entrepreneurship often starts with an idea- but sometimes, it starts with a friendship. That’s exactly what happened with Wade Turner and Kyle Wandishin, two CU Boulder students from completely different backgrounds who teamed up to tackle one of the most frustrating infrastructure problems: potholes. Their startup, Arterial, uses AI-powered dash cameras to detect road damage in real time, allowing cities to identify and fix problems before they worsen. ?? By integrating this technology into municipal vehicles already on the road, they’re creating a smarter, more efficient way to maintain infrastructure. A huge congratulations to Brigham Young University Marriott School of Management for taking 1st place in the VCIC (Venture Capital Investment Competition). University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business and the Deming Center hosted 6 incredible teams from 2nd place Thunderbird School of Global Management, 3rd place University of California, San Diego - Rady School of Management, Alberta School of Business, University of Alberta, The University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management to test their venture capital investment chops by evaluating early stage startups. None of which could happen without the wealth of community we have supporting events, students and businesses. Thanks to all our judges who gave their day to listen and give feedback to these teams. What started as a high school brand selling hoodies and beanies has now evolved into an innovative app that helps skiers and riders find like-minded partners based on skill level, pass type, and favorite resorts. ?????
