Exciting news from India! A DEME and Jan De Nul Group joint venture has signed a letter of award with ITD Cementation India Limited for dredging and reclamation works at Vadhavan Port in India. The signing took place during the Belgian Economic Mission to India. The project involves nearshore reclamation and shore protection for the greenfield port, located on India’s west coast. Spanning approximately 200 hectares, the works with two large hopper dredgers will facilitate the construction of breakbulk and liquid cargo handling facilities. This initiative is part of the Indian government's broader plan to transform Vadhavan into one of the world’s top 10 container ports by 2040 . Get ready to go behind the scenes again at the Port-La Nouvelle expansion project in France with Project Engineer Thaina Gobbi Dalvi! This time, we’re diving into the construction of the loading platform. The loading platform is being built with the expertise of our partners VINCI Construction Maritime et Fluvial, Balineau and GTM Sud-Ouest TP GC . The port expansion will boost port activities such as liquid, project cargo, breakbulk, and dry bulk, while also supporting initiatives related to the energy transition. #portlanouvelle #port #france #portconstruction #engineering

?? Exciting milestone at the Fehmarnbelt tunnel project. The first two massive 73,500-ton tunnel elements for the Fehmarnbelt tunnel project have successfully been floated up from the skidding beams in Upper Basin A and carefully transferred to Lower Basin A. This achievement was the result of weeks of meticulous planning and close collaboration across multiple teams. Each element, measuring 217 meters in length, was carefully floated using high-capacity pumps to raise the water level to +10.4 meters above sea level. As the transfer progressed, water levels were carefully managed, and the water was gradually lowered back to sea level to securely position the elements in Lower Basin A. In total, approximately 975,000 m3 (975 million liters) of water was pumped in this highly precise operation. The next phase of the process will involve floating the elements out of Basin A and transferring them to the ballast concrete jetty in the Work Harbour.
