Senior Architect Andrew Anderson has been with us for five years! Do the math, and you’ll realize that he was hired right at the cusp of the pandemic—on just his second day as a DELVer, our team went fully remote. You can imagine the challenge that connecting and working with a handful of new strangers through a screen brought to him. But Andrew handled it with grace and humor and has fit right in ever since. “When I accepted the position at DELV in 2020 I was seven years into my career and felt that I had a lot to offer as an “experienced” designer. What I quickly learned is that my career was only just beginning. My five years with DELV has humbly brought about tremendous personal and professional growth among a team of truly talented individuals who’ve instilled in me a deeper appreciation and excitement for what it means to be an architect.” We are so grateful for the insight and leadership that he brings to our studio each and every day! With Daylight Saving Time approaching and spring around the corner, we're dreaming of getting outside. Mulberry Fields is a popular year-round park in Zionsville, Indiana that's home to amenities spanning from splash pads to pickleball courts. Surrounded by prairie grasses, wildflowers, and sprawling adjacent sports fields, DELV was challenged to design a pavilion and shelter that could become the park's gateway. When the Beck family, well known in the world of agriculture and a trusted partner of Purdue Research Foundation, heard about the vision for revitalizing Squirrel Park, they offered one of their historic barns to be used as the centerpiece. The barn will house a new restaurant concept by Cunningham Restaurant Group officially dubbed "The Lawrence" in honor of legacy family farmer Lawrence Beck.
