Two promotions are better than one! We want to say a huge congratulations to Jeffrey Newton, CPA and Missy Acosta, MBA, CDML, PCM on their recent promotions within Delta Dental of Tennessee! Jeff was named our Senior Vice President, Audit and Finance after 9 years of overseeing our finance and underwriting departments. Missy was named Senior Vice President, Brand Experience after leading our marketing efforts for more than 18 years. Both Jeff and Missy have demonstrated tremendous leadership for their departments while living out our mission of ensuring healthy smiles. We are so proud to have them on our leadership team!

An educated community is a healthy community! Book'em, an organization that is championing early literacy and education, announced at their 35th anniversary breakfast that an astounding $95,000 was raised to further their mission! We believe promoting literacy and transforming lives through the power of books is essential in building a healthier, more educated society. We are especially proud to be part of their book bus initiative, which is helping provide countless children with access to stories that will foster a lifelong love of reading.

Earlier this year, we introduced benefits for individuals with special healthcare needs to address oral health issues faced by people with developmental disabilities. We believe that a healthy smile is important for everyone and partnering with an organization like Empower Me aligns with our shared mission to make a positive impact on lives! We were honored to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the Empower Me Center Phase 1 facility during their Party on the Property event. This new building will provide on-site programs and activities for thousands of individuals with disabilities. We are confident this new space will make a huge difference in many lives. More than $110,000 was raised for Niswonger Children's Hospital at the Play Yellow Golf Tournament. Our Chief Strategy Officer David Crenshaw, CPA, JD represented Delta Dental of Tennessee at this event where all proceeds will go towards hospital expansion and enhancing wellness programs for children and families throughout the region. Thank you, Ballad Health, for hosting such an important fundraising event!

Erlanger has southeast Tennessee’s only Level I Trauma Center, providing the highest level of care for critically ill and traumatically injured patients in a 63-county service area. In order to raise funds for those trauma services, Delta Dental was proud to help sponsor their Farm to Table(aux) event. This fundraiser gathered community-minded, philanthropic art and food lovers to experience the popular farm-to-table culinary trend and an interpretation of living pictures inspired by the creativity of Andy Warhol, all while raising money to help Erlanger provide lifesaving care to those in need!

As long-time partners of the Nashville Predators, we share a common mission to promote the use of mouthguards in sports and educate on the importance of dental safety. As part of our collaboration, we were privileged to serve as the presenting sponsor for the Filip Forsberg Hockey Clinic! This event offers young hockey enthusiasts the chance to hone their skills under the guidance of top professionals (and of course they got to meet Marshall Molar!). Go Preds!

We had the privilege of attending the annual Impact Awards for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, Inc. and were truly moved by the powerful stories shared by this year’s award recipients! One honoree beautifully said, “I applied for a job, and Goodwill gave me a life.”
