Today is #NationalRuralHealthDay, and we are excited to celebrate the #PowerofRural! At Delta Regional Authority, we recognize the efforts of health care providers and stakeholders in addressing unique health care challenges across our rural communities. That's why our partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS's Federal Office of Rural Health Policy and the National Rural Health Resource Center is essential in developing programs like the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) program, which has worked to maintain the stability of the Delta region’s health care facilities, ensuring rural residents have much-needed access to care. Twenty-five alumni of the Delta Regional Authority’s (DRA) Delta Leadership Institute (DLI) Executive Academy recently participated in an executive leadership training held at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Provided through an ongoing partnership between the DRA and Harvard University’s Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education, DLI alumni participated in a four-day course titled “Effective Leadership Across Sectors,” a leadership training program designed and led by Harvard faculty to move communities in the Delta region forward. The program is an advanced education opportunity offered exclusively to DLI alumni, who are members of the Delta Leadership Network – a post-DLI community of nearly 700 community leaders representing public, private and nonprofit sectors from across DRA’s eight-state region. #DeltaLeadership #DLI #DLN #LeadershipDevelopment
