It's always a treat to spend time in the field looking at Delta Land Services wetland restoration projects. Seeing the incredible growth of bottomland hardwood forests is also very gratifying. Here are a few pix from time spent last week with my colleague Connor Meche at our Bayou Fisher project--well over 1,000 acres. The trees are only 8 years old.

I had a great time learning about the latest in wetland/stream mitigation, species conservation banking, water quality credit projects, climate mitigation, and more at the Environmental Markets Conference last week in Pittsburgh. I was happy to join my Delta Land Services colleagues Daniel Bollich and Lee Walters on the adventure. Last week, Delta had the honor of hosting LSU students from Dr. Nyman’s habitat restoration class. Delta’s Connor Meche and Dr. Billy Delany showed students the techniques, challenges, and success of wetland restoration at our Bayou Conway Mitigation Bank. Bayou Conway is one of a few Delta banks that has reached long-term success by achieving canopy closure - a great example of a project in its post restoration phase!
