Dr. Liz F. emphasized the need to prioritize integrated, value-based care, ensuring healthcare systems focus on both affordability and quality outcomes—especially for underserved communities. Her insights underscore the critical role of policy innovation in driving sustainable improvements in oral and overall health. We're thrilled to support our Senior Oral Health Partners, Dientes Community Dental Care and Salud Para La Gente, in launching the "Bite Into Life" initiative—an innovative program addressing the senior oral health crisis in Santa Cruz County. Millions of older adults face barriers to essential dental care, significantly impacting their quality of life. Initiatives like these reinforce our commitment at the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, especially as we gather this week for our Senior Oral Health Summit to explore solutions that empower seniors to lead healthier, more independent lives.

One big goal of the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation is to enable dental care for over 1,000,000 seniors by 2030. One way we’re doing that: bringing together community partners that serve seniors and enhance how they deliver care. This week, we're hosting our annual Senior Oral Health Summit, with partners from across the country uniting to share insights, develop strategies and drive change for senior oral health. With collaboration at the heart of this summit, we're working to ensure every older adult has access to the quality oral care they deserve. Dr. Clarke Allen from DELTA HEALTH CENTER INC. the oldest Federally Qualified Health Center in the country, shared: “I’m here because I grew up with seniors in my community who didn’t have access to dental care. That’s my why. Rebuilding relationships, building trust and increasing education around the connection between oral health and overall healthcare are going to be key.”
