关于我们
Delaware Valley Residential Care (DVRC) provides post acute, community based rehabilitation services for survivors of brain injury. We serve persons with traumatic and acquired brain injuries. Residents served are men and woman aged 18 and older who, as a result of their brain injury may have physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes which require a supported living environment. These persons may be challenged by difficulty with attention and concentration, memory, organizational skills, perception, expressing feelings, inappropriate behaviors, and physical impairments. DVRC programs are designed to provide adult survivors of brain injury with resources and support to live as independently as possible. Our services are highly individualized based on needs, desires and level of functioning and are carefully planned with respect to helping residents regain essential skills.

Your brain is irreplaceable—protect it. ???? This Brain Injury Awareness Month, wear a helmet, buckle up, and prioritize safety. Enjoy these fascinating brain facts! - About **60% of the brain is fat**, making it the most fatty organ in your body. Healthy fats (like Omega-3s) are crucial for brain function. - Even when you’re asleep, your brain is highly active, performing memory consolidation, problem-solving, and processing emotions. - Neurons send signals at speeds of up to **268 miles per hour (431 km/h)**—faster than a Formula 1 car! - Each neuron can connect with thousands of others, forming **trillions of connections**—more than the number of stars in the Milky Way. - The myth that people use only **10% of their brain** is false. MRI scans show activity occurring in almost all areas, even during simple tasks. - Your brain **rebuilds** memories each time you recall them, which is why memories can change over time. - After age **30**, the brain begins to shrink slightly each year, with a more noticeable decline after age 60. - Chronic stress can reduce the size of the **hippocampus**, which is the part of the brain responsible for memory and learning. - Your brain can **rewire itself** and form new connections throughout life, meaning learning and adaptation never stop. #BrainInjuryAwareness #ProtectYourHead #delawarevalleyresidentialcare #dvrc #braininjury #braininjuries #brainrehabilitation #rehabilitation #delawarevalley #residentialcare #TBI #ABI #longtermliving #traumaticbraininjury #acquiredbraininjury #healthcare #invisibledisability #rehabmedicine #braininjuryawareness
