A systematic review and meta-analysis of 63 studies, which included over 400,000 patients, examined the link between cannabis use during adolescence and young adulthood and later academic performance. The findings suggest that cannabis use during these periods is likely linked to higher school absenteeism and dropout rates, a reduced likelihood of achieving high academic grades, graduating from high school, enrolling in university, and earning a postsecondary degree. It may also be associated with increased unemployment. Further research is needed to identify interventions and policies that address both the causes and consequences of early cannabis exposure. ??
