关于我们
Connecting people, science, and nature for a healthy Delaware River and Bay. The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary is a nonprofit organization that brings together people, businesses and governments to restore and protect the Delaware River and Bay. From its headquarters in Wilmington, PDE focuses programs and scientific research on the entire environment affecting the Estuary — from Trenton to Cape May, New Jersey and Lewes, Delaware. We encourage collaboration among the Estuary’s many stakeholders and seek practical solutions to help restore the natural vitality of the Delaware River and Bay on which plants, wildlife, people and businesses rely. The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary is committed to providing equal access to information about its programs, including document translation services for all individuals. Please [email protected]?to request PDE's free access services.

Thank you to all who attended last week’s Experience the Estuary Celebration in Philadelphia. The weather was beautiful, the band was great, and the oysters were local! We hope you had as good a time as we did and that you had a chance to talk with our staff about our mission and work to support clean waters, healthy habitats, and strong communities. Happy #NationalEstuariesWeek! This year, PDE scientists have collected data from 134 wetland sample points in the estuary. The samples were used for measuring vegetation robustness, coverage, species composition, and plant height. All this information is important for designing wetland restoration projects.

Happy #NationalEstuariesWeek! PDE staff Ella Rothermel and Kelly Faller were at Port Mahon, Delaware, doing some Nekton surveys, which are surveys of organisms that can navigate in water on their own (swim vs. float). We were looking for minnows and killifish, which are small enough to live in these small ditches and creeks. The surveys are to help us understand what fish communities look like here before we attempt restoration activities.
