On Saturday February 8, 2025, DBRC completed the sale of our flagship spill vessel OSRV Delriver. Delriver and her crew served the DBRC with distinction since 1991 protecting the anchorage areas in the Delaware Bay. The Delriver sailed over 9 days to her new home port in Haiti with no issues. Contingency plans are in effect for continuous protection until our new ROZEMA BOAT WORKS, INC vessel is received.

During our annual Christmas Party President Robert Poole recognized Vessel Supervisor Scott Bossert for 30 years of service to DBRC. Thank you for your service Scott!

At our 4th quarter Board of Directors meeting we honored outgoing Chairman Bill McEnroe . Bill served on the board for 9 years, the last 6 as chairman. President Robert Poole and immediate past president Rich Gaudiosi thanked Bill for his leadership, guidance and advocacy for the co-op. Bill will be missed and we wish him the absolute best in his upcoming retirement from Monroe Energy, LLC. We held this meeting at our Lewes DE location and used the opportunity to take the Board out on OSRV Delriver to the Big Stone Anchorage and observed tanker lightering in progress.

Delaware Bay and River Cooperative, Inc and Marine Spill Response Corporation conducted a joint training session over 2 days last week. Day 1 consisted of DBRC familiarization on the MSRC Fury, a ROZEMA BOAT WORKS, INC similar to that ordered for DBRC and loading and securing a Crucial Skimming System from MSRC on deck using the OSRV Delriver crane. Day 2 began with a safety and operational brief. The Delriver and MSRC Fury sailed from our Roosevelt Inlet berth to several miles offshore in the Atlantic. The joint crew deployed the skimming system successfully while an MSRC UAV team recorded the exercise. The second part of the training session was conducted in the Delaware Bay where 1200 feet of Expandi Boom was deployed from Delriver using the MSRC Fury. DBRC had a busy week last week supporting our members and partners. We facilitated and hosted PBF Logistics Philadelphia and Paulsboro terminals spill TTX at our Linwood Facility, President Robert Poole and Director Bill McEnroe attended the U.S. Coast Guard Area Committee meeting in Cape May and we conducted some basic boat operations training for Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc. at our Lewes DE location

Our trainers and shop technicians just wrapped up 28 days of training and exercise support for our member companies during August and September. Initial 24 hr spill technician along with many boat and equipment deployment refreshers with some fire brigade and hazmat technician refresher thrown in. We were honored to host Deputy Sector Commander Captain Roberto Riviera and his staff at our annual Board of Directors Meeting. The visit includes an information sharing session with the board and a tour of some of our response equipment based in Linwood, PA. We participated in a challenging pipeline response drill on September 29 in West Deptford NJ. Our member company Monroe Energy, LLC engaged local, county, federal and contract stakeholders and established a remote command post. Excellent practice opportunity! Provided some quick assistance to Delaware County Emergency Services and PADEP in the city of Chester yesterday. Officials discovered oil from an unknown source in a cove near the Subaru Park area and needed help making sure it didn’t get to the main channel of the Delaware River. Our spill techs quickly boomed off the area and grabbed some samples to assist the Coast Guard with their investigation. Our partners The Lewis Group came in for the overall clean up.
