At Del Monte Foods, harvest season is more than just gathering crops — it's about delivering the best quality produce to our consumers while supporting our growers. ? It all starts with a seed. We breed green bean seeds the traditional way, without GMOs, to naturally increase pest- and disease-resistance and quality. ? “Each year, we introduce to our mix the top two green bean varieties that fulfill the needs of our manufacturing plants, consumers and growers,” said Matthew Badtke, Director of Agriculture. ? In fiscal year 2023, we commercialized a variety that grows two days faster than other varieties, allowing growers to save on water, fertilizer and other inputs. For a crop that is planted in several rotations to stagger harvest — the benefits add up! ? Learn more about how we’re harvesting the future here: https://lnkd.in/dB6JeCZP?#GrowersofGood

Last week, we were honored to host Taylor denBroeder and Elisa Tinker from the Danville-San Ramon Valley chapter of PFLAG National for an insightful presentation on “When a Loved One Comes Out,” both in-person and remotely, as a part of our Pride Month celebration. This marks the second time our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, True Colors, has welcomed the local PFLAG chapter, and our team deeply appreciates the compassion and relatability they bring to their presentations. Thank you, PFLAG, for your invaluable support and guidance! #GrowersofGood #LeadwithLove

Let's bust some myths about canned and jarred foods! At Del Monte Foods, we’re increasing sustainability from farm to pantry in many ways. Fact: Most of our fruits and veggies are packed within hours of harvest, locking in nutrients that can last for years. And with many low sodium options, they often offer comparable nutrition to fresh and frozen. Fact: Canned and jarred foods have a longer shelf life and can be used straight from the shelf with no need for chilling or freezing, saving more energy — and more money. Fact: By using "imperfect" produce, we help reduce food waste to help ensure all food reaches its highest and best purpose — to nourish people! Let’s rethink what nutritious and easy meal ingredients look like! https://lnkd.in/gJUJ7tB9 #NutrientRich #GrowersofGood #UpcycledFood
