Degenkolb Principals, Lucie Fougner and James Liu, recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the beginning of this significant initiative. The project will add two 36-bed wings and convert semi-private rooms into 60 single-bed patient rooms, enhancing patient care and improving the overall patient experience. The Degenkolb team was thrilled to see the San Bruno Recreation and Aquatic Center (RAC) open its doors to the community this weekend in sunny San Bruno, CA! Holly Razzano, Lilian Gonzalez, and Alex Barnes were on hand to celebrate the grand opening. Replacing an existing and aged swimming pool and gymnasium/recreation center in San Bruno City Park, this new 49,360-square-foot, two-story facility is designed as a central hub for wellness and recreation, featuring a gymnasium, indoor pool, fitness center, and versatile multi-purpose rooms. The RAC offers a safe, resilient space for the community to gather, stay active, and connect, and has already become a vibrant addition to San Bruno. The Degenkolb team recently had the chance to visit the site of our project, the new Alder Creek Elementary School in Folsom, CA, as they were putting the finishing touches in ahead of its ribbon-cutting ceremony! ?? Part of the Folsom Cordova Unified School District, Alder Creek Elementary has transformed from a blank canvas into a stunning 70,000-square-foot, two-story facility. Designed with the future in mind, the school is ready to welcome 700+ students from TK through 5th grade, with room for expansion as the community grows. ???????? The campus also features a sports field, basketball courts, and multiple recreation areas, making it a vibrant hub for outdoor activities. Alder Creek Elementary is set to become a vital part of the community and a foundation for the future of our young learners. We are excited to welcome Laura Rice, SE as the incoming President of SEAOCC for the 2024-2025 year! Laura is an Associate at Degenkolb Engineers and has served as SEAOCC’s Vice President this past year. As President, she looks forward to continuing the outstanding work of our board and expanding our initiatives to benefit our members and the community we serve. Laura’s journey with SEAOC began while attending Cal Poly SLO, where she also served as the President of the student chapter. Her dedication and leadership have inspired many engineers to join SEAOC, creating a lasting impact on our organization. During her professional career, Laura has worn many hats within both SEAONC and SEAOCC, including Membership Chair, District Director, and helping to organize SEAOC Conventions. The Degenkolb Engineers Marketing/Business Development team recently had the exciting opportunity to visit the construction site of the Stanford Computing and Data Science (CoDa) building—a Degenkolb project that promises to be a cornerstone of innovation and collaboration at Stanford University! ???? Located on Stanford’s main Palo Alto campus, the 167,000 sq. ft. CoDa building is set to connect the historic main quad with the emerging Science Quad. Designed with a flexible framework that includes permanent offices, rotating research team spaces, and collaborative areas, the CoDa will serve as a dynamic environment fostering groundbreaking computation and data research. We’ve also incorporated lower carbon concrete and steel specifications to achieve significant overall carbon reduction. ?? Some highlights of the CoDa building include: ? A coffee bar ? ? A 200-person special event space ?? ? Classrooms and lecturer/student administrative offices ?? ? Undergraduate study spaces designed to inspire and engage the Stanford community ?? We’re thrilled to be part of this forward-thinking project.
