Over the weekend, a few of our Sacramento team members laced up their running shoes and took on the Shamrock’n 10K in Sacramento! ?? Thanks to the support of our Wellness and Social Committee, they tackled the course with plenty of energy and team spirit. Last week, in celebration of Women in Construction Week, our Degenkolb team members Holly Razzano, Heavenz Kaur, PE, SE, and Lucie Fougner toured 2118 Milvia Street, the future home of Berkeley City College’s new academic hub—a project that Holly and Heavenz helped design. Hosted by XL Construction, the tour highlighted the outstanding contributions of the all-female leadership team guiding this project forward. As the structural engineers on this progressive design-build project, we’re proud to see this six-story, 60,000 s.f. facility come to life. Designed to support students and faculty with modern classrooms, dedicated workspaces, and an open rooftop deck, the project exemplifies the power of collaboration and innovation in the built environment. Inspiring the next generation of engineers! ????? Degenkolb Engineers was proud to have Hannah Leigh Thompson, PE, Melissa Patel, PE, and Claire Killian, PE volunteer at the Rakuten and Golden State Warriors STEAM event, Building STEAM Futures, where Bay Area students from?Girls Inc. of Alameda County explored hands-on engineering challenges alongside industry professionals. From structural stability to problem-solving, these young minds got a firsthand look at how STEAM shapes the world around us. The Degenkolb volunteers—representing nonprofit organization, Engineers Alliance for the Arts—had an amazing time sharing their passion for engineering and showing students how creativity and technical skills come together in real-world design. Degenkolb hit the slopes for our Annual Ski Trip! Team members from our Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento offices traded their desk chairs for chairlifts this past weekend in Lake Tahoe.
