African Mission Healthcare's Scott Marcello & Dene Marcello joined the Deerfield team in our offices this week for a #DeerfieldFoundation Lunch and Learn. With a 2025 grant from the Deerfield Foundation, African Mission Healthcare is funding C-sections and safe vaginal deliveries at Rwibaale Hospital in Southwest Uganda for mothers who cannot otherwise afford safe and compassionate care. Through the Surgical Access For Everyone (SAFE) initiative, the Deerfield Foundation will fund 732 deliveries, benefiting ~1,464 mothers and children. Our support also enables mentorships and training programs for doctors and nurses, further increasing capacity in Uganda’s healthcare system.
