Picture this: You're a biotech entrepreneur. You've just pitched an investor. Their response? "Thanks, but no thanks." "It's not a fit." What does Deerfield partner Cameron Wheeler think you should do next? “Ask for a five-minute phone call. Most investors want innovators to be successful. Say ‘I understand you didn’t get there - what didn’t land? Was it the pitch, was it the people? I’m open to all feedback.’ Establish a rapport and ask for just five minutes of their time. Listen and be respectful - if they gave you a no, don’t try to resell them. Learn from what they’re saying.” Cam joined HSBC’s Katherine Andersen and Sauber Capital’s Keara S. on stage today at Cure.’s Power of X Summit to discuss what makes an investable story in today’s capital-constrained environment. *Cure is an affiliate of Deerfield.
